  • Stephen J. Hinkle Has Passed Away

    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stephen J. Hinkle, Board of Supervisors President of South Indian River Water Control District. Mr. Hinkle passed away suddenly due to cardiac failure on Wednesday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 63. Mr. Hinkle was elected to the Board in 2012 and served as president since 2015.

    We extend our condolences to his family, who has asked for privacy at this time and will announce a date for a Celebration of Life Memorial in the coming weeks. Additional information will be forthcoming as it becomes available.

    Board of Supervisors Meeting - February 18, 2021 - Canceled

    Board of Supervisors Meeting - March 18, 2021 - Rescheduled to March 25, 2021

    The March 18, 2021 Board of Supervisors Meeting has been rescheduled for March 25, 2021, to be held at 6:00 p.m. in the District Work Center. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting will be a combination of Zoom video/audio conferencing and in-person attendance. Supervisors and staff will be the only ones allowed to attend in person. Landowners may only attend via Zoom/audio conferencing. Please contact the District office at sirwcd@sirwcd.org or 561-747-0550 for Zoom meeting information. If any landowner wishes to speak during the meeting, please send your comments by March 23, so they may be reviewed by the Board of Supervisors. Please check the website for ongoing updates.     Engineering Workshop - April 1, 2021

    There will be a workshop on the Jupiter Farms Re-engineering Project on April 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the District Work Center. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the meeting will be a combination of Zoom video/audio conferencing and in-person attendance. Supervisors and staff will be the only ones allowed to attend in person. Landowners may only attend via Zoom/audio conferencing.     Notice - Resurfacing of Alexander Run Rd

    Please be advised that Palm Beach County Road and Bridge Division will be resurfacing Alexander Run Rd. from Sandy Run to Randolph Siding Rd. Tentative start date is Mar. 4, 2021 (weather and schedule permitting). This is a day-time operation and there will be temporary lane closures. Work duration is approximately five days. Contact Palm Beach County Road and Bridge iif there are any questions.

    Annual Landowners Family Day Canceled

    Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, the South Indian River Water Control District Board of Supervisors has decided to cancel this year's Family Day in an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of the landowners, staff and vendors. Read more.
